Art advisory.
R Blake Miller is an independent art advisor in New York, working with individuals and organizations across the visual arts.
I was born in 1989 and grew up working in the Houston Museum District. I studied Art History at Lesley University in Cambridge, served as a docent at the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and worked in the office of Whitney Museum Director Adam Weinberg before moving to New York. In 2015, I earned an MA in Art and Public Policy under the mentorship of artist Karen Finley, deepening my appreciation for the employment of agency and value exchanges in art.
My cousin Dorothy Blau was a Pop Art dealer. My grandfather Fred Winchell was a portrait photographer. Both were known for creating lasting relationships with their clients, and sharing their professional resources within the art world.
Over the past two decades, I have worked across art fairs, galleries, and consulting firms, taught art to youth and adults, sold work independently, and worked with people at all stages of their careers.
I am at work on a book.
