R Blake Miller is a New York–based independent art professional providing discreet project management and advisory services across the art ecosystem.
Andy Warhol, Dorothy Blau, 1983 – 1986
My cousin Dorothy Blau and grandfather Fred Winchell were known in the art industry for their all-encompassing practices. Dorothy, one of Pop Art’s first dealers, and Fred, an established portrait photographer, supported their colleagues and clients by sharing insights and creating lasting partnerships. The industry and the dialogues it contains are defined by value exchanges, ways of translating meaning into purpose, and value.
Dorothy Blau (b. 1917 – d. 2014)
Fred Winchell (b. 1924 – d. 1988)
A foundational element of my own practice is active listening, paired with a deep sense of empathy in my treatment of both clients and audiences. Drawing from personal experience and years of collaboration with established individuals and organizations in the art industry, I have developed a strategic, adaptable methodology and set of best practices that transform complex challenges into clear, tailored solutions.
My perspective and writing style is direct, easy to understand, and makes every attempt to balance insight with objectivity and belief in hidden potential. The skills and strategies I apply within my working relationships were taught to me by some of the very best in the industry, and part of the joy of my work is sharing these practices with my clients.
As Art continues to guide and challenge the individual and collective consciousness, my practice is dedicated to aligning opportunity with artistic vision and intent, enforcing art’s influence and impact in society for good.
